Minutes of the Village of Potter Board Meeting
April 12, 2017
The Village of Potter monthly board meeting was called to order by President Doug Lau at 7:00 p.m. Others in attendance were: Rob Schoen, Kristen Polifka, Dennis Gruett, Chad Olsen, Harold Jansen, Pete Litersky, Gary Lemke, Mary Schwalenberg.
Notation was made that proper posting had been carried out at the Potter Post Office, Potter Village Hall, and Gruett’s.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved by Rob Schoen, seconded Kristen Polifka. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s report was given by Dennis Gruett as follows:
March expense: $7,189.05
March income: $2,687.14
Balance as of 4/01/17: $112,191.82 checking
The Potter Utility report was given by Dennis Gruett as follows:
March expense: $5,456.08
March income: $7,853.99
Balance as of 4/01/17: $28,881.21 checking*
*$1,500 is for equipment replacement fund
Sanitary District report:
Harold from MCO reported that some sludge pipes were plugged at the plant. Speedy Clean jetted out the lines.
Chad Olsen discussed steps for the village to do to try to meet the requirements needed for the new sanitary permit.
Building permits were issued to Brandon Schoen for a major remodel and to Janet Sample for a window and header change.
Doug Lau reported that the bridge and fireman’s park have been designated as exclusion zones for sex offenders on Tuesday nights for the summer.
Action on ordinance 2017-1 was tabled and will be addressed at a later meeting.
Dennis Gruett reported that 102 residents voted during the April 4, 2017 election. Gary Lemke was elected president with 59 votes. Kristen Polifka was re-elected as trustee with 92 votes. A sincere thank-you was given to Doug Lau for his devoted service as village president.
Rob Schoen reported that the fire department passed the audit it was given.
Vouchers were presented. A motion was made by Rob Schoen, seconded by Kristen Polifka, to pay all vouchers. Motion carried.
