Minutes of the Village of Potter Board Meeting
May 10, 2017
The Village of Potter monthly board meeting was called to order by President Gary Lemke at 7:00 p.m. Others in attendance were: Kristen Polifka, Dennis Gruett, Mary Schwalenberg.
Notation was made that proper posting had been carried out at the Potter Post Office, Potter Village Hall, and Gruett’s.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved by Kristen Polifka, seconded Gary Lemke. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s report was given by Dennis Gruett as follows:
April expense: $11,226.45
April income: $2,856.80
Balance as of 5/01/17: $103,822.17 checking
The Potter Utility report was given by Dennis Gruett as follows:
April expense: $3,934.76
April income: $2,654.27
Balance as of 5/01/17: $27,600.72 checking*
*$1,500 is for equipment replacement fund
Sanitary District report:
3 quotes were reviewed for televising the sewer pipes in the village. A motion was made by Kristan Polifka, seconded by Gary Lemke, to hire Great Lakes TV to begin televising 20% of the sewer pipes per year. Motion carried.
No building permits were issued for the month.
Action on ordinance 2017-1 was tabled and will be addressed at a later meeting.
A new quote was received from Fischer and Mader to repair the village hall roof at a cost of $18,700.00. The old quote was for $17,200.00. Bruce Fischer stated that the cost of materials has gone up 2 or 3 times since the first quote. A motion was made by Gary Lemke, seconded by Kristan Polifka to approve the work at the new quote. Motion carried. The Town of Rantoul will pay for ½ the cost of the repairs.
Gary Lemke reported that Eric Duchow, Wyatt Hanson, and Jay Schoen will spray mosquitoes in the village.
Updating the village website was addressed.
A new culvert was installed at 205 Riverdale Drive at the owner’s expense after the matter was reviewed by village board members.
Gary Lemke reported that Dave Bessert was told he would be responsible for the cost of repairing the culvert on his property.
A motion was made by Kristian Polifka, seconded by Gary Lemke, to purchase a new message board from Badger Office Supply at a cost of $175.00. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Gary Lemke, seconded by Kristan Polifka, to grant a beer license to the Potter Fire Department for summer softball. Motion carried.
Kristan Polifka approved having Gary Lemke attend a seminar in Green Bay.
Vouchers were presented. A motion was made by Gary Lemke, seconded by Kristen Polifka, to pay all vouchers. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Kristen Polifa, seconded by Gary Lemke, to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
